Shell and Victor were finally hitched in the Big Brother wedding today - but Michelle's day went from bad to worse when she failed to catch the bouquet.

Geordie Michelle sulked all afternoon at the prospect of playing the relatively lowly role of chorister during the big day.

Things got worse for the 23-year-old when Big Brother ordered her to wear a frumpy chorister's outfit instead of the dress she spent hours putting together.

But Michelle became really incensed when transsexual bridesmaid Nadia caught blonde Shell's bouquet at the end of her wedding ceremony.

She tried to rugby tackle Nadia to the ground for the bouquet of flowers, but the Portuguese-born maid of honour emerged victorious, crowing: "I'm going to be a bride."

The brunette berated her "chicken" Stuart after the wedding for not helping his her achieve her dream of being bride.

With a face like thunder, she moaned: "I would have loved to have been the bride or the bridesmaid.

"I would have loved to have caught the bouquet. That was some serious passion there when I was trying to get that.

"In that one second that Shell said, 'Are you ready Nadia?', I went, 'Yeah', and just dived for it'," she admitted. "I've just had a bad day."

Earlier in the afternoon she had paced up and down the red carpet saying: "I think there should be two brides". Father of the bride Stuart, who bookies believe had sex with Michelle under the dining room table on Monday, walked Shell down the aisle while Dan was best man and Jason the clergyman.

The Wedding Breakfast

The wedding breakfast got off to a low-key start as the housemates tucked into the first course and cracked open the champagne.

After Daniel read out the order of events for the evening - including speeches, traditional cutting of the cake and the bride and groom's first dance - the party got underway.

Not long after the night's agenda was read out came the announcement that the wedding breakfast was in the storeroom.

"Oh wow!" said Michelle, as they found a feast-laden trolley in the storeroom.

"Why's it called breakfast?" asked Stuart.

"That's what it's known as," replied Daniel knowledgably, but failed to explain why.

Having wheeled the first course into the living room and dragged helium-filled purple and silver balloons out, they sat down to their prawn cocktail starter.

Stu doesn't get it


Best man Daniel did the honours with the champagne, popping the cork and topping up the wedding party's glasses.

But Victor was distinctly unimpressed with the wedding fare.

"Anyone want this prawn cocktail?" he asked, wedding nerves perhaps dulling his appetite. But he managed to choke down some champagne.

The wedding party initially munched in near silence, but as the champagne began to flow they finally started to enjoy themselves.

Thank goodness for that.
