I did, and she was good but no pop idol!


On the other hand, I'm glued to American Idol on ITV2 and none of our finalists measured up to this lot, they are awesome!

I voted once for Michelle in the PI2 final . . . but only because she was slightly less bland than Mark. (sorry Janette!)

It IS a shame . . . . Michelle must have thought she'd hit the jackpot when she won - after all, Will sold over 1 million copies of his debut single in a week, and then had a huge No. 1 album.

Sadly for her, she just didn't have the unique voice, endearing personality, and pure 'X' factor that the original Pop Idol had . . . . (IMHO!!!) nor did the so-called 'fans' who voted for her to win go out and buy her records.

Unless her next single is a hit, I'm afraid it's probably curtains for Michelle.

I think Simon was quite right when he said that we are a small island and singers such as the calibre of Will just dont exist round every corner.

I think Michelle is going to find it very difficult. She really doesnt fit into any pop idol category and unless she comes up with the right song she will disappear quicker than David Sneddon did. Unfortunately she was 'different' and that difference will soon fade away.

BTW Janette I quite agree American Idol 3 has got some outstanding contestants (although there are a few I could well do without), but the winner (whoever they are) is going to be 1000 times better than Michelle.

So what's happened to Michelle? I've heard her release two songs (both were poor, in my opinion) and that's it. Has her pop career ended already?

And what ever happened to Susanne? I thought she was easily the best contestant, but was more suited to rock music than pop.

I think Michelle got the sypathy votes to be honest. However she did have a good voice but not what i'd call a pop idol

Did her second song get to a a good position in the charts?

It's the same with fame Academy what happened to Alex Parks big career in music? They said she'd be a great singer who'd sell loads of records yet I see no big career! Alistair started off ok yet he's disappeared as well.

Her second single "Meaning Of Love" reached number 28 in the UK Pop Charts. That would suggest to me already Michelle's pop career is at the bottom of a downhill slope. I'll give it until the end of the year around before she's finally dropped by her record company.

I never thought much of her voice during the stages of Pop Idol. I don't think much of her as a person. I don't believe she's a good role model for kids due to her obesity. So how she ended up the winner is a complete and utter mystery, although I suspect the Scottish vote had a hand in it. The fact she was up against another weak contestant (Mark Nice-But-Dim) who I believe shouldn't have even got past the preliminarily stages (that goes for them both actually) didn't help matters.

The last series of Pop Idol will probably be remembered as the worst ever.
