Default Smoking in front of children?

A new DM article talked about a recent picture of Mick Jagger smoking next to his baby grandson.

Most commenters agreed with it and weren't bothered by it.

Personally, do you think it's right to smoke in front of children or just people for the matter?

Personally I think it's wrong, smoking seems to not effect some people but overs you can really tell it's had a terrible effect on them.

I don't think it's a problem. I don't think it means kids will start smoking if they see it, I know people who's parents smoke but they don't.

I'm absolutely against it. I used to be a smoker but I never smoked when my children were around. They didn't consent to breath in my second hand smoke.

As long as its outside i'm fine with it.I stopped totally when my eldest came along but for a little while before i stopped i'd go to the door step.Would never smoke in the house or car with kids. When i grew up everyone smoked everywhere.I was used to seeing fags at face height when i was a kid.

I started smoking because I thought it would make me cool and impress the crumpet.

This baby is the son of Jagger, it will be his duty to be a smoker, this little man is currently on tour with the greatest rock band of all time, he'll learn so much of uncle Keefy.

I'm a smoker, but I never ever smoke in front of anyone, especially children as they can't complain . Even when smoking was legal indoors I always asked if other people minded that I smoked.
It's my vice and I have no right to inflict it on anyone else.

If I'm outside, then yes I do it. If they don't like it they can repel away.

smoking near or around children is disgusting. Fair enough you want to damage your lungs but to damage the lungs of innocent children is disgusting.

No one should subject others to passive smoking least of all kids who don't know the dangers

there is no such thing as passive smoking.

it's been proven that there is more damage to the lungs from being exposed to car exhaust then from second hand smoking.

do you expose your children to cars?

Indoors I think it's pretty rank to smoke around anyone, unless everyone is smoking. Outdoors... Meh. If I was a smoker, I personally wouldn't do it, but in general my thoughts on it sort of hover around the area of "there are bigger problems to worry about".

I'm so confused as to why most people on the article support it, but then again most Daily Mail commenters are idiots.

I hate Smoking, but my Mother and Father do give me and my Brother the second hand Smoke.

Sadly I don't think that they'll ever get off of the stuff.

Well, it is possible, my dad smoked 20 - 50 (at varying times) a day for over 40 years and quit cold turkey about 5 years ago. He smoked like a chimney around me and my sister when we were kids and now says he has no idea what he was thinking...
