Why use the word 'jews' at all? If these topics continue to provoke insults they will be locked.

the word "jews" is not seen in and of itself as an insult, although the word "jew" has been used as an insult - most notably in South Park, leading Jewish organisations are campaigning to get people to stop using it as an insult but they are not campaigning for the removal of the word "jew" from any vernacular.

The Anti-Defamation League, B'nai B'rith International , Hillel [an american based group for Jewish students at universites] and the American Jewish Congress, and in Britain The Board Of Deputies, the Community Security Trust and the Union Of Jewish Students all refer to those who practice Judaism in their literature as either "jews" or "jewish".

When using the words "jew" or "jews" in some posts I have made I am merely referencing the religious division of people who are jewish.

The word Isreali cannot be used as the majority of the worlds Jews are not actually in Isreal, it would be tantamount to labelling a moslem as a "Mecca".

I would be at a loss to find another term to use to describe those who practice Judaism, other than the two used within the faith itself, and provided of course it is not used in an insulting manner.
