I'm loving this thread, makes me want to go to Canada. Also in the north of england we eat Poutine, well we never call it that, it's simply "cheesy chips and gravy" the south turn their noses up on it though.

I think you will find this link to your liking LT... It explains in detail that we have had an El Niño Canadian winter here, and for my part of Canada it has meant that we didn't ever get below -30 this winter... and typically in January and February we get a few weeks of -30 to -40 temperatures over the last few years. It is also true that we have probably had very low records of snow fall... so here's hoping for a wet spring, otherwise the farmers are going to be hooped.
