Earlier this week, it was REVEALED that Bernie Sanders, contender for the presidential nomination and native Brooklynite, thought we still used tokens on the subway. Today, opponent Hillary Clinton threw his lack of solid subway knowledge right in his face when she used a MetroCard to enter a turnstile. She struggled with it, certainly, but she knows it exists!
It took Clinton five swipes to get through the turnstile, and though websites have been touting this as a JUST LIKE US moment, it is important to note that only weak leaders struggle with their MetroCards—erstwhile Mayor Bloomberg, for instance, famously never failed with a swipe. Clinton also reportedly spent a week planning this subway ride with her campaign, JUST LIKE US. http://gothamist.com/2016/04/07/hillary_subwayghazi.php well it was on the daily show as well ![]() maybe the computer told her, i like Bernie Sanders, and the message on the computer was the same people told her in 2008, Please Try Again ![]() ![]() |

I honestly don't blame anyone who can afford to do so for not using public transport. I still have nightmares about it. Neither me nor my wife could drive when my first was born and we had years of pulling buggies on and off buses and trains... It's a horrendous existence. Getting a car marked a genuine vast improvement in our lives - that's how bad public transport is!
So yeah... People who don't need to use trains choosing not to use them? Not really a scandal. Last edited by user104658; 13-04-2016 at 10:22 AM. |
