I honestly don't blame anyone who can afford to do so for not using public transport. I still have nightmares about it. Neither me nor my wife could drive when my first was born and we had years of pulling buggies on and off buses and trains... It's a horrendous existence. Getting a car marked a genuine vast improvement in our lives - that's how bad public transport is!
So yeah... People who don't need to use trains choosing not to use them? Not really a scandal.
