Well done all 16 of you on conquering your first live show and I'm so pleased no one is leaving this week sad it gives us chance to realise what worked and what didn't

As a mentor my job is to encourage you all but also to give constructive criticism as what you can improve and that's what I will do. So I will first say what I didn't think worked but then what did work

So firstly on my acts

Lyric 145:

I think I may have given you a few too many songs there actually, that might not work for a lot of people, they may view it as a bit messy and too much going on, however on to the good point, I personally loved it, you showed so much style and it's such a brilliant way to introduce yourselves to the live shows of what you are going to bring in the upcoming weeks, I do feel your a marmite act, people are either going to love or hate you, I love you

Only the young

It was bordering on cheesy that is the only bad point I can give here, and I love a bit of cheese, both songs just melded together superbly and have you the pop rock freah youthful sound I wanted for you, I think your going to bring something truly great to this series and it's fun to work with you

4th Impact

I sensed a few nerves and that's understandable on the first live show and you need to polish the vocals just a little bit more, but your performance was excellent, your such a talented family, you really do have the X factor I feel and it's exciting to see what you have in store for us

Fifth harmony

Ok maybe some parts of that mashup didn't work quite as well as it should have, but my oh my do you girls have it! Style, looks, voice, choreography, your so professional and I have real contenders here I'm so excited to work with you

Onto the girls

Bella

Your a lovely girl with a lovely voice and that was a lovely song. But that's my bad point here, it's slightly forgettable. However you do have a tone to your boy e that makes you unique and I trust in mock as I think he is a great mentor that between the two of you you can find a song that's going to make you stand out, something more raw and exceptional, that performance was good but I would like a more stronger emotional performance perhaps next week

Sally

I wasn't keen on the song so much, it was a bit all over the place, but I like your sound and I'm placing you as the dark horse at the moment, if you get given the right song you could ace the competition

Caitlyn

I wasn't keen on the song I got a little bit bored and I'm sorry for saying that, because i really like your voice and I will become a fan I just know it

Misha

Of course me and you already know each other, your one of my brother in laws best friends and I know how much talent you have, so that was fairly slow for you I know how big a performance you can do, but that can also be a good thing because I know what you have been through in life the song means a lot to you and it showed you can be versatile so well done

Boys

Seann

Okay that was just way too eccentric people could view it as your trying to cover up weaknesses you have in your voice, but I feel that you are a strong vocalist and next week please can you strip everything back and show that

Andrea

Yeah I agree every song is sounding the same with you at the moment you really need to change it up, maybe take on a rock song, but I think your voice is great and your so loveable

Jimmy

I'm sorry that song for you didn't work, and maybe that's because of who I liken you to, I feel that your a ed Sheeran James bay type of artist and they wouldn't cover a track like that, I don't feel your need a big song or a big performance I think your style and your artistry with music can take you far, I love that you can play an instrument so props to you for that, you need to pick a better song next week

Reece

People are going to hate me for this, but your my least favourite in this favourite, I don't believe you to be a genuine artist, the way you dress the way you sing the songs you pick, it's all very wannabee tribute act. At this point I don't know if you can win me over but what I will say is I admire your confidence and you put on a performance and you get the audience going

Onto the overs

Danielle

You were trying to impress me, you did. I'm not completely keen on that song surprisingly I feel there are so many better Katy Perry songs, but you made it work and I actually preferred your version to hers, and that should be viewed as a huge complement, I was wrong about you and I am currently a fan of you

Terry

Well that was cheesy and I think the song is a little too youthful for you, that said I love cheese and I enjoyed it, picking a youthful song was a clever move on Nickys part. I'm not too sure how long you will last in the competition but you are doing well so far

Donna

See I would have liked to see something more emotional with you and a little bit more unique but I think it was a good song choice for this week as it showed you can be uptemp and a little bit more energetic and you can bring the emotion next week, you show age is just a number, and your really experienced and I'm a fan

Tony

Nicky I didn't like that particular cover, but the song was very clever, it's relevant at the moment so it worked, you sounded good and you managed to stand out so keep up the good work

I won't bother voting as no one will be going home but I was impressed by most of you so good job!!!

It should be a decent performance from Danielle then Nicky.

Update on my Girls rehearsals.

Sally is really happy with the new song choice, she seems to be feeling like it's more of a challenge for her too as it's not her usual song choices, but not impossible for her to do.

And my other girls are enjoying their experimentations as well, Misha B in particular is enjoying the Coldplay challenge, and she's adding a Rap component to the song.
