No, what this means is the Police have an allegation/s against him from one or more individuals, they have not arrested him on the matter but have talked to him.

they have now sent the details of the allegation/s and what Cliff Richard has said, to the CPS, who will look at it and decide if, I stress 'if', there is anything that they could recommend charges on or not.

The CPS may well come back with no action recommended depending on what is in the file.

He has not at this time, been arrested on child sex matters, has not been charged on child sex matters and may well still not have anything to answer to further at all as to the allegation/s.

In my opinion, there are "questions that need answering" when it comes to good ol' Cliff. However, I don't think they will ever be answered, or at least not before his death. He's getting on a bit.

The operative word indeed being 'if', he has not even been arrested and he hasn't even been charged with anything yet.

A crime has to be proven or that is how the law should work in the UK, it seems innocent until 'proven' guilty is fast becoming an irrelevant part of UK law now,especially as to celebrities.

Such as William Roache who had his name plastered across the papers, then was found unanimously 'not guilty' of all allegations and charges.
While the accusers get no negative publicity whatsoever.

It smells a little to me that now in this compensation filled culture we live, so many celebrities are now facing really way back historic claims of abuse,that we never hear of much of note being brought against ordinary people who have no wealth or celebrity status to get compensation likely from..

My only other thought being however is that sadly in my view,for many, 'innocent until proven guilty' is no longer the case to a good number in society.

Maybe a couple of compensation hunters..given how successful previous cases have been. Would be better waiting til he died though so he couldn't defend himself.

This will stick, as stuff like this always does. So I hope the police have some kind of actual proof rather than the say so of someone who has miraculously coming forward after 50 years
