Hopefully this is the end of this dispute, that should never been allowed to get to being so anyway had Jeremy Hunt acted with more sensitivity.

Shame on the lazy GPS who avoid all out of hours thanks to moronic labour and selfish junior doctors

Junior Doctors: 'The strike wasn't about weekend pay, until the government offered better weekend pay and we accepted it.'

Funnily enough I'm in Romania atm and I've been asked why our government treat our medical professionals like Ceausescu used to treat theirs.

Good question, my answer would be we don't need to maintain the health of plebs here any longer as we can have plebs from Eastern Europe cheaper.
Therefore we no longer require an NHS.

I doubt Ceausescu paid his GPs hundreds of thousands of pounds a year. It's interesting also that so many doctors are foreigners... If it was that bad they'd stay home... or go somewhere else. So comparing this government - for all their failings - to Ceausescu is one of the sillier claims on here.

This is not yet secured as accepted,it also has next to nothing to do with Saturday pay either, it is about the stretching out of the same people, well actually less than there were before already, over providing a longer service while still expecting no standards to slip in order to do so with nowhere near the funding being put in to cover same too.
It wouldn't surprise me if the vote was close or that it got rejected again and if it was, I would still support the Junior Doctors. |

Without all gps weeknights and weekends you have massive problems and it all falls onto the hospital doctors. secondly youre 100% wrong about the contract. this is 19 hours fewer hours maximum per doctor , so theyre working fewer hours not more. To say otherwise is a lie thirdly the tories have been smart in finally detting doctors to work shift patterns like everyone else. this means you spread the weekend workload across all junior doctors. previously way too many hours fell on too few doctors and the majority got off from working weekends totally. with a crazy 91 hour maximum hour working limit per week under labour. That is a fact, to say otherwise is simply untrue we now have a chance of a proper 7 day nhs. the tories have pumped in Ł8 billion more per annum into the nhs than labour. labour run nhs wales which is a disaster and theyre miles behind nearly every waiting list. nhs wales is a disaster |

It has been about greed from the start. They said it was about pay, then switched to staffing concerns then the NHS's future.

It's about safe working practices, nothing more.
