did you hear jason? 40 times (or was it 30, i think 40) times she's said she accepts it's over and then 2 days later she's back on it all again. guy needs a restraining order against her.
his natural basic kindness in offering evelyn a shirt he's never worn and would never wear suddenly becomes something huge in charley's head. she lies, says she knows it's a lie or if she's not sure can't prove it and then says he lies, she never does. tries to lay all manner of guilt trips on him... the stress he must be under keeping it all together in there will make him ill if he's not careful.
