I think the army has changed since national service, we're now tackling terrorist organisations like ISIS and Al Queda, I think it'd be unfair to force that on a 16 year old.

I think it's an excellant idea. Young people who have no discipline in the home can benefit from guidance anddiscipline.
They still have it here in Denmark and a lot of young people seem to enjoy the experience. People are excused if they are in further education or have a medical reason, but otherwise young men and women are required to serve for 2 years from 18-20

I am kinda sick of the old bitter people pushing stupid things on young people.

Let young people live their lives, let them be irresponsible. Life will hit them in future anyways

I despise the idea of mandatory military service. It should be a choice to go into the military or not, not an obligation.
