i think Andy did what he could for Jason and knew he could do no more, that J had to work it out for himself.
the biggest difference in their situations, as i see it anyway, is that Andy was ostracised by the group and J was there for him - andy talks it out, whereas Jason is choosing to ostracise himself whilst he tries to figure out what he's done. he's a man of great integrity, and he's beating himself up trying to see what he has done 'wrong' so he can face up to it and correct it. he's so wrapped up in that process Andy can't help and has given him his space.

i don't see that he was bitching about J's accent - he was making his own observations about the brighton accent and how it sits in his own head. besides, most of us have had friends we really like but whose voice, when complaining or down, we can find irritating. that doesn't make A a Brutus anymore than it makes J a bumbling moron.
