I don't think Andy said or did anything out of order either, I doubt he even sees Jason as anything other than being still a friend.
His take on the accent was funny.
Being a friend does not mean you have to agree and support all the time, there are times when a really good friend realises even the best of friends can be irritating at times.
It is nothing sinister or being nasty in any way at all in my view.
