I thought it was quite the contrary... the younger you are (teens) the more susceptible to depression you are due to chemical imbalances and hormones due to puberty.

Also, studies have shown that with age comes emotional stability and less chance of neuroticism etc.

Edit: Just realised that the above looks right bitchy, haha - I didn't mean it like that, I was genuinely inquiring as to whether there were studies to prove it.
