Default Byron Burgers: Protesters release cockroaches and locusts at London restaurants

Now If I was in there
1. I want a Cash Refund
2. I want a Voucher for a free meal later

Its up to that place
to hire Security
The Security would grab these Punks
empty the insects down their pants
outside the doors

[Cockroaches, locusts and crickets
were released into two Byron restaurants
in protest against the burger chain's
alleged role in an immigration sting
against its own staff.
Demonstrators released a "swarm of insects"
into Byron’s Shaftesbury Avenue
and Holborn diners on
Friday evening - forcing the
branches to close early.
Activist groups, London Black Revs
and Malcolm X Movement,
said they had taken "affirmative action"
in response to what they called
the chain's "despicable actions
in the past weeks having entrapped waiters,
back of house staff and chefs
in collaboration with UK Border Agency".]

"Affirmative action" is just an excuse for thuggish behaviour. They should be made to go in and pick every one of those cockroaches up with their teeth.

Prosecute the firm for employing illegals, deport the illegals.
Pointless paying wages for border control etc if we just keep letting people get away with it when caught.

How did they know they were illegal? if they were paying tax and had all the relevant paperwork to work here then what caused them to check just these individuals at this restaurant?

If being the word.
Not a clue to the likelihood of them paying tax or having papers. More likely casual labour.
Could be someone has been sacked and reported them
Everyone might have been checked not just the ones mentioned, restaurants and takeaways are notorious for illegals working there and are checked all the time.
The manager might have done a deal, get them all to come in for a meeting to make it easy to nab them all and he/she will get let off.

That is exactly what I was thinking, they have been caught employing people illegally and instead of being prosecuted they have agreed to this action instead.

Why is HMRC not cracking down on this? May has pledged money to combat illegal slavery which is what this kind of practice would amount to.

the likelihood is that the restaurant did a deal with border control to save itself a fine. I believe its something like 10k per illegal. Employers are duty bound to ensure that those they employ have the correct documentation, so if they had illegals working for them, it is their responsibility.

Anyway, whatever, the protesters don't have a leg to stand on.

I would say the protesters have every right to be angry, at the exploitation of both the illegal workers, the fact the employers obligations were not met, the length of time this has been ongoing.

Fair play, that is the British way isn't it? If there have been dodgy dealings going on then let's out those who have not been playing by the rules.

That's not absolving those here illegally of any blame of course however if it wasn't so easy to find work would there be such a lure?...

Activist groups, London Black Revs and Malcolm X Movement, said they had taken "affirmative action".

Cool names for a bunch of crims acting completely outside the law.

I can see how it would be scary when you don't know how far they're going to go...

... But, am I the only one who has kids who would absolutely love it if someone burns in throwing bugs about? Like my eldest would be screaming her head off at the time but I swear she'd be talking about it for years afterwards, haha.

Then again this is a child who burst out laughing in the dead-silent cinema during one of the sad scenes of "The Good Dinosaur"... And who lists her favourite Harry Potter scene as "the bit where Dobby gets stabbed"...

Disgraceful behaviour, these idiot protesters make me sick. Byron were absolutely correct. They've obeyed the law and helped the law enforcement arrest people suspected of using fake documents. What am I missing?
