if anything, he's stood up to them more because he does it from a lone position... none of the others of either set seem to have his back, and maybe for their own good reasons, but he doesn't seem fussed about it. probably used to having to stick up for himself all his life. i like that he's an independent in this house, true to himself and not sucking up to anyone.
