This exact thing actually happened with two of my friends when I was a teen... one threw a drink at the other as a joke and it knocked his contact lens up under his eyelid. Should he have called the police?

Yes it's a stupid prank but it's an accident, he didn't intend to hurt anyone, and probably had no idea she was wearing contact lesnes. All that's required in a situation like that is an explanation of why it's a bad idea / dangerous... you don't punish people for a mistake as if they intended it.

...to be fair though, Vicky...it's been a two way thing with the Bears and the non Bears and always is in the silly season when all objectivity goes when it comes to favourite and least favourite housemates...

..this is the crux of it though for me..I don't think there was any intention to cause her discomfort or have medic attention but it's the sort of thing without any thought that someone much younger would do and the potential danger of a few of his 'pranks and lols'..like the oil on the floor was...I mean, we all know that you don't mess with the eyes by squirting anything in at such close range of asking her to put her eye right up to and the added thing of her wearing contacts...which he would know that she did because they've shared a house for 4 weeks or whatever...just no thought at all and no adult mindset...

...anyways, she's fine I presume and no matter what 'pranks' he has in store or does, he's going to win..that was fairly much decreed from the off....

"Someone I don't think should win might win! Fix! It's a fix!"

You're better than this, Ammi!

And Katie Waissell lost The X Factor because her gran was an OAP porn star, and not because her performances were awful and she was really irritating...

It's a conspiracy theory which is really not much different from crying fix... You just have to accept that it won't always be your favourite that wins...

...hmm, I can't really comment on that because I wasn't familiar with anything about Granny Waissell, that all came a bit of a revelation...but it is completely different to 'fix' in that there's no vote rigging or anything, just BB knowing their audience and how they're going to 'pitch' each series in terms of their HL shows/what they'll reveal and what they won't reveal etc...it's not 'reality' and it's not balanced but very much the engineering of 'characters'...(I very rarely have a favourite win btw so 'acceptance' really doesn't come that hard...)....

I don't think it's ever been any different though, I remember the earlier seasons when live-feed was often available and, if you watched live feed, the tone was often totally different to the HL shows... You'd see people talking and joking who the HL shows never showed together, extra things said in conversations that we're omitted to change the implications, etc. The only difference was that live feed was more readily available (was often on E4 half the day) BUT it makes little difference in terms of audience manipulation... Because it was only ever a very small percentage of hardcore fans who actually WATCHED live feed. Most of the voters were basing their opinions on the HL shows - and so the evictions and the winner were still decided in that edited version of the show.

In my opinion the only real difference now is not that there's more manipulation... We're all just reality TV veterans now so we see it easily, whereas in the early years we were all just young sprouts.
