why? If you are going to want to have a log fire going for 14 hours wouldn't you want to be there anyway so just chuck another log on ...it doesn't look very good as most of the fire is swamped by the waiting logs, it's not practical to sit around as either side would have no heat, so it's a no from me..a fire pit or brazier is the way to go

When in the dangerous outdoors you need a fire for many reasons and having one all night blazing away is for safety and its rain proof

Also I didn't realise we had moved into dangerous terrain, I'm still in suburbia
