Default Daisy Lowe's first dance felt like a dream

Daisy Lowe has raved about her first dance on Strictly come Dancing 2016.

The model topped the leader board after an impressive Waltz with Aljaž Skorjanec, scoring a 9 from Len Goodman who described it as Strictly's best first dance ever.

Chatting today about her first live appearance, Daisy admitted the whole thing felt like a dream.

She said: "I loved doing that dance so much, it felt more like we were floating, it felt quite surreal. There were only a couple of moments I thought 'This is real, I'm doing my first dance on Strictly'"

Speaking on It Takes Two, Daisy added she "couldn't believe" the scores although at the time was more concerned about crying on TV.

"I've just been really overwhelmed by the reaction," Daisy went on, "It's shocking, I'm very grateful!"

As well as the judges, Daisy's performance also wowed her pro partner Aljaž.

He said: "We did have three weeks to do the first dance right but what impressed me the most when I watched the waltz back, the feet, the steps, the posture... even when I went down to the detail, I was so impressed."

As it happens the pair's score of 32 is the highest first week total in three years... since Aljaž danced with Abbey Clancy who went on to win.

So could history repeat itself?

It's of course early days yet and this weekend will see something totally different from the pair.

"Its been so emotional for the past three weeks that now it's quite fun getting to have some.. fun! And be quite sassy!" Daisy said about her Cha Cha Cha.

Aljaz added: "Every week you have to be your best dance. It doesn't matter if its a waltz or a cha cha, it's going to be different. We've put a lot of time and effort into the technique. "
