My Shell isn\'t baring body to win says mum
Quote:
THE mother of pretty Shell Jubin has hit back at claims she's stripping off to win votes.
But mum Ellie Jubin insisted: "She's not doing it for votes - absolutely not. That's not the kind of girl she is."
"I'm more than happy with her going topless and naked in the house. It didn't shock me. I wouldn't do it, but I don't mind.
"She's not flaunting her body, it's just a normal natural thing. If we had gone to France or Spain on holiday I'm quite sure she would have gone swimming topless. There's no difference.
"It's nice to see her relaxing and enjoying the last few days."
Ellie, 60, admitted she thought Shell WOULD pose for a raunchy photo-shoot, adding: "I wouldn't put it past her but it wouldn't be Page 3. It would have to be tasteful."
Ellie, who almost died from a brain haemorrhage two years ago, confessed the only reason Shell was in the house was to win the £60,000 prize money for her family.
And she said nothing her daughter, 22, had done in the house had shocked her, except smoke.
Shell, who herself beat a cancer scare as a child, wrote to tell her mum of her occasional habit before she went into the house. Ellie said: "I didn't know she smoked and it was a little bit of a shock to find out.
"However, she'd sent me a 'dear mum' letter to tell me. It's only a little thing and I can forgive her because I used to smoke a lot more than her.
"She just told me that she liked to smoke when she wanted to relax and sometimes with a glass of wine."
Ellie blasted Big Brother bosses for editing the show to make Shell look posh. "She's far from posh, she only went in there to pay off family debts."
Ellie, from Selkirk who has another daughter, Kelsy, 19, added: "We are a single parent family. Some people have made us out to be rolling in it. We aren't. We are the opposite.
"However, Shell has taken this in her stride and decided to do this to get money and go on and further her education.
"The kids have supported themselves through university. They have to because I can't. Money is extremely tight.
