How does excessive drugs and alcohol affect recovery, I wonder. Because there is no mention of denying treatment to drunks and junkies.

I think that just goes without saying, I'd say that they already fall under the umbrella of reasons why treatment might be deferred or restricted for non urgent surgery.

Haven't heard a word about treatment being deferred or restricted for anyone except smokers and the obese.

If they don't get major life saving surgery then why would they be offered non urgent treatment?....
