No we don't, we often get reports about PMs (or sometimes we get PMs from members with screenshots of suspicious behavior) which is why we have a good idea about what's going on when it comes to people using PMs to cause trouble.

No, mods and forum admins can't read PMs. The only thing is if a mod or admin is looking at the Who's Online page at the moment when someone is reading a PM, it shows who it came from (and not the title or content), but they would have to be looking at the page at the time.
There's no forum function for an admin to read someone else's PMs. As a site admin it is technically possible for me (and no-one else) to access the database to read a PM, but it is not a routine function and requires some specific commands to be run. I wouldn't do that unless there was a proper reason for it ie. someone complained about being seriously harassed by private message. |
