I also don't believe his eternal nomination was an accident. He knew Jedward were popular so that would have been a wasted vote and Kim got massive boos.

I get where you're coming from but I honestly don't think it's that deep.
Sure, there's no doubt he probably did his research before going on the show, and what with celebrities knowing who else is going in the house before it has actually begun, I would imagine he looked back specifically at the all-star's series.
Touching on what Drew said, James would have went into the house
knowing he would have to play the game at some point, but I don't think he had an out and out game plan. If he did, then he has played an absolute blinder, as the only time he has actually showed signs of game playing was the other night when he gave Speidi the eternal nomination.
Also, an important thing to take notice of is that he has only ever 'played the game' when put in a situation that requires him to. Never have you seen him go to the diary room and tell BB he's going to this or going to do that. Him and Jason from BB17 are very similar housemates IMO.
