Default Have you enjoyed Big Brother 8?

Hi guys,

Just wanted a general opinion - have you enjoyed BB8? Has it lived up to the hype?

For me, I've loved it! BB7 was my first proper BB and I honestly didn't think it could get better... but it has!

The series started off on a bad note - the all-female house was slightly dry, and then when Ziggy arrived... phew... the show really hit its peak for me, and it just got better and better when Billi, Liam, Brian and Jonathan enterted and Charley started kicking off.

The Australian task didn't really work for me - Pauline was terribly unconvincing. Thats not to say I didn't enjoy watching it!

The fake eviction was BB8 at its very best. Charley walking out to a silenced crowd will go down as a classic moment in TV history, and then the housemates shock reactions as they watched the interview. Brilliant.

And then things went bad... the halfway house task was a total shambles (like the House Next Door task in BB7) and the new housemates were boring. Just painful to watch, TBH.

And then that went away and things started to pick up again....... and here we are! A week away from the final!

What a rollarcoaster ride, and a bloody thrilling one at that!

BB8 - Overall an excellent series which admitadely had some flaws. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it regardless of what you lot say.

It been better than BB7 which was so predictable from Day 1. The housemates on the whole have been interesting and they are giving them things to do until the end to keep us watching.

I wouldn't say its the best BB series ever but on the whole it been fine.

I have. Not been the best, but definitely not the worst. I think the people who are saying its been boring will change there minds once them best bits play on finale night.

Yep I agree, it has been so much better than BB7. We had fun, arguments, love, interesting twists and brilliant situations.
However I didn't feel it was a proper Big Brother, it was special. I didn't like a lot of housemates, they weren't likeable at all.

Well after BB5 and BB6 it's my fave !

I've enjoyed it, kinda showed the "reality" side and that not every series will be entertaining 24/7.

I haven't enjoyed this series at all this year- and I stopped watching half way through the series. I loved it at the start, I thought Laura and Tracey would provide true entertainment, but they both moaned, and as a consequence, both got evicted. Glad Sam and Amanda are still in the house though

Well let me be the first one to disagree.
No I aint.
At all.
I've watched them from the start - even the BB we don't dare mention (Cameron who?) - but his one takes the biss.
Formulaic from the start.
Second rate nobodies that 'just fit' the boxes the team were searching for.
(This one will rub with that one, yeah yeah yeah)
oh...and we need a romance....... Oh f'cough.
I have got enjoyment from it, but from the wrong angle.
I'm always anylising the workings of it in much the same way that Carole woman is.
That aint the way to watch it.
I just want to sit back and be entertained by them, and I'm not (Jonty aside at the mo).
None but he deserve the money and title because he is the ONLY one NOT concerned with his public image. That's how it used to be, and how the next one should be too.

Generally I've enjoyed it. I think BB unnecessarily tried to stir things up more than usual really, which clearly didn't go down too well with a lot of viewers... hence this might partially explain low ratings. I think it's been good at points, and I've managed to keep up overall - a lot easier than last year anyway. Plus I think the housemates have been pretty good, since a good number of them have developed pretty big fanbases which in turn should make the end result all the more interesting.

BB new format next year.........

26 August 2007
OUR SHOW WILL GO ON
TV CHIEFS VOW BIG BROTHER IS HERE TO STAY 'It's phenomenal' says boss
By Steve Hendry
BIG Brother bosses last night vowed the controversial show will survive - despite axing the celebrity version.

Fans feared the reality series faced the chop after Channel 4 announced it was "resting" Celebrity BB.

But yesterday Angela Jain, controller of E4 and head of Big Brother, said: "I think it's easy to slag the show off but it is a phenomenal programme."

She told the Edinburgh International TV Festival BB will return in a new format next year, adding: "It has an amazing capacity to reinvent itself."
