If anything, WW3 would be more likely to erupt from a conflict between South and North Korea because the US and Russia would likely use it as a proxy war and things would spiral from there.

It goes without question that the Allies winning was the preferred outcome although it's important to remember that the Allies were also involved in a terrible atrocity in the form of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, US may have dropped the bombs but the UK agreed to it.
