Default Targeting of certain members

This isn't to start an arguement but I thought making a thread would open the possibility of people coming forward and saying theyve noticed this to.

I've noticed on numerous occasions that there is people picking on either
a) new members
b) members who like a certain housemate

Its always the same people, and sometimes ive had to log off because I get so angry.
I've reported etc but nothing happens.

I may be overreacting thats why ive made a thread to see if im not the only one whos noticed.
If I am fine.

Ohh, scandal! I've noticed some 'targetting' - mainly in the BB sections. I just ignore it LOL

I totally agree with this thread Chris.
A couple of times, I have been targeted by a particular member/s for liking a certain housemate. It's pathetic really, considering it's a 'Big Brother' forum..

I've noticed it too, in fact just today I saw a thread with a member's name, most likely singling them out, but the mods got rid of it straight away before I could even view it so they're doing a good job.

I have noticed this happen quite a lot as well chris, i'm glad that other people have noticed it as well, it's always around and it can't make members feel very good about themselves either but now i just ignore it, especially when its in big brother sections but it shouldn't really be happening at all

No it didn't come across that way at all, I was just adding how good a job the admins are doing on tackling things like this.

I think what members need to think about before they target a fellow member over a Big Brother issue is:

#1. Big Brother is only a reality TV show.
#2. Members are entitled to their own opinion on a Big Brother issue/housemate and should learn to respect that.
#3. What ever opinion someone has about something, they should refrain from shouting/ throwing all abuse they can think of at them.

If certain members can't take other people's opinions onboard in a sensible way then I think it's time for them to say bye bye to TiBB!

It's being going on for over a month now and it's the main reason I don't really post in the bb8 section any longer.

I havent been on very much recently..... but there does seem to be a bit more negativity in the BB section.

I think that if anyone feels like they are being targeted then they need to tell a mod or admin and they will try and sort things out

Yeah I agree, it's only a show, if nowadays we can't share opinion, it's awful. TIBB has know worse but there is some negativity now, and more during the final week of Big Brother because the competition is really close.
I hope once BB is finished, it will be better and calmer.

Ok... but its always the same..... when BB is on everyones opinions are heightened and people do get very uptight about certain housemates and therefore there will be clashes

Where i think it gets too much is when it crosses the line and becomes too personal

I must admit, I've gone into some threads and logged straight out of them.

Admin do a great job, ignore button is also there for those who choose to use it.

Question for admin? Can the u2u function be taken away from members if they abuse it? I've not had any issues but just a thought because of what another member has just said. (Maybe I should u2u an admin!)

Ziggy fans get slagged off constanly becuase hes not as popuar as the twins or brian,im also fed up of being called, thick, stupid, less good looking (lol what a joke that one was) and told i need help because of supporting a particular housemate.
I dont know if its ok to name names on here but i will anyway, moses (random number, cant remember) seems to have a problem with forum members not spelling correctly or using the right punctuation.He-if it is a he,seems to base his time spent within the forum nit picking for spelling mistakes!

Moses is the thirty-something year old supremist who I famously out-debated before getting him on a warning.

That guy - yeah .

Anyway - keep supporting the Zigster!

Your right, some people do become obsessive and blinkered and will not except others opinions. Thankfully its only a handful of people and the majority are friendly and welcoming. Its what make this place so addictive

I need to make a special mention to the flip side of this argument too. Sometimes people are not actually being nasty , only slagging someone off , and people take it way too seriously.

You shouldnt have to put up with being called those names... and if I were you, I would press the report button asking for a mod or admin to help with the situation.

You shouldnt be subjected to that at all

Again, thats not the type of thing that should go on here.... so the same applies... hit report

yeah....whatever you say moses

I shall continue to support Ziggy!

Yeah it's not because I don't support Ziggy that I would hate you supernoodles!. If you think Ziggy is great etc... we all respect that as much as people respect my opinion of who I love in there.
Arguments happen too quickly, that's the problem, some members are touchy things, they can't stand when a member doesn't agree with. That's terrible. It happened to me planty of times because I support Imogen, that wasn't really nice.
Or there are the members who are upset because we tell them they didn't post in the right place. One member thought I targetted this one and he/she hate dme so much and I was the posting police blablabla. If he didn't want some members like me to tell them it was a wrong section, he got to respect the rules, there is no targetting in that case.
