Tabby has the eX Factor
X FACTOR finalist Tabby Callaghan has dodged the headlines since starring on the show three years ago - but now he's back with a vengeance. The 26-year-old is proud to be back in the limelight for the right reasons, thanks to his credibility rather than his celebrity status. He said: "It's weird. Once you've been on the show it's like you come from X Factor country, live in 11 X Factor Drive and you're X Factorian. "The label follows you around and you can't really shake it off." But while Tabby is grateful for the career stepping stone the ITV programme gave him, he is keen not to credit it too much. He said: "The show was full of ups and downs, but I don't think it put the real me across. "After all, it is a one-hour music show, but with only 10 minutes of music." He also spilled the beans on some behind-the-scenes gossip, saying: "The audition with the judges is not the first. "I had my first audition with the producers, then a second one with them and finally on my third try I saw Simon (Cowell), Louis (Walsh) and Sharon (Osbourne)." The Irish rocker was willing to try anything to get his music heard and is quick to defend the reality TV route. He said: "People might think it was the wrong route to take, but you'll try anything to have a voice. "It's become uncool unless your talents are discovered under the floorboards and it's all organic. "But there's no perfect way to reach the top. "Look at Jimi Hendrix, he had to tour with The Monkeys - even though they were the equivalent of a boy band then." Tabby is really feeling the strain at the moment after his laptop was stolen - with all his tracks for the new album stored on it. He said: "I'm gutted. "I've just been robbed by some little b****** who snuck into the studio and ran off with my laptop. "He was seen on CCTV strolling away. He didn't even run, he just walked off." He added: "It's an absolute joke. The police can't do anything because he's only 12. He's managed to get off the hook, but half my life has gone. "I had to re-do 60 per cent of the music that was stored on it." "Who knows though," he said with a joke, "maybe it was for the better!" Single King Of The Town is released on 24 September. Tabby's album Songs From The Gut is also due out next month. For tour dates, visit www.myspace.com/tabbyofficial. Source: TheSun.co.uk Click here for source article |
