Poverty, the word used for low income.
No absolute poverty nowadays.

He and no one else has said there is absolute poverty.
However there is poverty, are you saying the 5th richest Nation should consider it acceptable to have any kind of poverty.
I certainly don't think that acceptable.

People assume that poverty means poverty.
It is based on different standards to real poverty.
Why don't they just call it what it is, say more people are on low incomes rather than in poverty.

That doesn't make sense.
You listed absolute poverty in your post,I stated poverty.

For instance this govt considers people in energy poverty if a certain percentage of their disposable income goes on it.

Low incomes help create poverty actually.

Well it makes sense to me.
I stated both absolute poverty and poverty.
One doesn't exist and the other is now a word that covers ' low income'.
The more wages go up, the more people will go into 'poverty'.
Not because they are any worse off, but because some people will be better off.
All to do with percentages and median wage.

No.
I say again, low incomes can lead to poverty.
Address low incomes then poverty will decrease.
Two different things.
