The forum is the same every year with housemate insults etc, I wouldn't say this year was worse than any other, some obviously feel it more some years depending on who they support etc and the best thing is after BB *most* regular posters go back to talking and getting along with everyone all though there is one or two that seem to take things tooo far.

The insulting housemates thing I find completely pointless and immature, it adds nothing at all to actual debates and regardless of what people that do it think it does not further their points in anyway, if anything it makes their opinions seem less valid and rational.

So theres nothing happening to the forum IMO.

Perhaps I have noticed it a lot more this year than before because Isabelle and Chanelle are my favourites and they get called a lot of names, especially about how they look then. I never really thought of it that way

I think this is it tbh. Until you have supported someone who does get a lot of 'hate' you don't actually realise how bad it is. People tend to overlook horrible posts about people they dislike too.

This year has actually been better than most others for OTT hate, appearance insults and such believe it or not. This is the sort of thing we have to look out for every year and I am being entirely honest when I say that we have had nowhere near as many rulebreaks this year as others. One of the worst years (IMO) for this was actually the year Helen Wood won. BB12 was particularly bad too but this year is sooo mild

Off the cuff things said in shock while should be dealt with are just that - things said in shock. The nasty posts about Lateysha and her weight and her parenting were series long as you are well aware.

The hate about Jason was not just a one off.

This post is an example of how people only see/care when it affects a housemate they like actually. Its all fair game if they dislike a housemate, all hate is fine, even ridiculous OTT hate like death threats is excused

No it wasn't,he was dragged through this forum and called some horrible stuff,I remember it well as he was my fave,and it was made all the more sweeter when he won.

In fairness I never said hoping anyone dies is ok, I believe If I had said I hope he dies I would have deserved a punishment. That said Kazanne mentioned one incident and people were shocked Lateysha was evicted such a move was bound to cause people to react.

The Lateysha hate was literally over the smallest thing, all she need do was talk and you could expect at least one person to call her a name over her apperance or parenting skills.

Definitely wasn't. I remember various posts casually suggesting he's a domestic abuser. Some of the stuff said about Lateysha was definitely horrid but awful things were said on both sides of that ridiculous fan war.

And yeah, the whole "catladies" thing is annoying too.

I don't think people hated her as such,they just hated the continuous excusing of her faults and the sychophancy that can sometimes be sickening , it doesn't help a housemate to constantly overlook their faults ,that is what causes a lot of friction,imo. because sometime people can blatantly see a fave has done wrong but they are still lauded and praised.

I would also agree with this actually. When a housemate is pretty much worshipped, it makes those who dislike them feel the need to post more, and it IS very bloody annoying when it seems a select one or two housemates per year can do absolutely no wrong

Its a bit of a vicious circle tbh. People who dislike housemates post more because of the OTT love in, those who like that hosuemate get upset as their chosen one is being insulted so they get worse with the lovein, so that hate gets worse...and on and on

Having been on both sides of this in the past I find it very annoying when one housemate is basically treat like God.l Everything they do is absolutely hilarious, they can do no wrong whilst other housemates get slagged for doing the same stuff..etc. BUT its also annoying when it seems some are purposely just trying to pick faults with someone you like

Well I think the fact posts I report like the one I quoted above don't get deleted is enough proof they are not being punished

except posts not being deleted doesn't always mean they haven't been infracted.

At the end of the day, like everyone with that train of thought, are making assumptions and presenting them as facts.
