I don't see why it's such a crime to want money when you're literally going on a game show with a huge cash payout for the winner. And for a BIG BROTHER SUPERFAN shouldn't Raph know that Jason ended up doing alright last year?

I think he was thinking more of Andrew going for Sam, taking the obvious option. So getting that money too.

It's "tainted" because he got it through evicting in a task, not the public deciding.
