I'd say it played a part, but I think a bunch of things have hurt Kieran like his sudden attachment to Deborah, threatening to throw Coke Can's at people, only realising that women are people too, him saying that he would've hit Chanelle had she been a guy. There's loads of idiotic comments from Kieran that have made him unpopular (if he even is unpopular tbf) and it's not all to do with that egotistical girl's moments in her short 3 week stint.
