That's a rather silly assessment to make.

There is still a vast blank canvas that science hasn't yet discovered/explored or explained so to say anything previously thought to be false actually being true would need to prove all of scientific history wrong is quite absurd.

Science cannot cure cancer at the moment. If in the future that comes about it doesn't mean to say those doctors who couldn't do anything for cancer patients many years ago were "wrong".

It does not need to. If a medium has actual evidence present it and it will be properly tested and analysed.

Thus just to be safe its better to assume that Aunty Mabels friend who "has the gift" is probably lying or mistaken and keep the Collider and some basic laws of physics
