In light of the recent riots in Virginia, I am curious about this.
Like, if I walked up to a random person in the UK would they know who Abraham Lincoln was (or U.S. Grant, Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis)? Would they have heard of Gettysburg? Are there Civil War buffs? In the South their Civil War leaders' monuments are being removed because of political correctness which led to the riots yesterday in Virginia. |
