You see this is part of the problem with wanting to cut down the amount of content that viewers have to put up with, you're reducing the number of live weeks when the biggest complaint was always that the actual show running times were too long. Now they have to cram more in in less weeks
It doesn't really make sense. Basically they've noticed that ratings have been getting worse throughout live shows so they've decided to have less of them, and also ratings for Sunday results were getting worse so they assumed we want to see more of the performance shows. It's all chasing ratings
