The classic "you weren't there so you don't know". You'd think so called intelligent people would watch their mouths with insensitive comments on a public stage.

There is no context in which a glib remark like that is acceptable imo.

But, again, they never learn.

Or they might just have a plan to help get the country back on its feet and help it thrive. That would be nice.

I think probably the worst part is “he said, before laughing”.It has echos of Hilary Clintons “we came,we saw,they died *cackle cackle” also talking about Lybia.
