Yeah the rest of the main family are generally dislikable even with Maura around, except her ex-wife/the mother who is an icon.

I don't really see where it can go without Jeffrey/Maura, and I've been frustrated with the anti-Jeffrey sentiments about him not being trans, a trans actress should play the role, etc, but obviously this is an entirely different issue and if he's fired, so be it.

But it's just so annoying because it's one of the warmest, most real and blunt comedies around and been such a huge turning point for trans actresses / actors. Would be such a shame for it to end like this. A completely new character would be interesting, perhaps tied to Maura's friends Davina and/or Shea.

Edit: I haven't seen season 4 yet

I'm not sure about Shea coming back because whilst I enjoyed the episodes that focussed on her/Josh, she wasn't a terribly compelling character.
