With his rippling muscles and gingeresque locks he's not exactly easy to miss. So how can it be that Big Brother runner-up Jason Cowen appears to have vanished into thin air?

When he exited the House last Friday night, he looked distinctly uncomfortable in the limelight - fidgeting and flinching his way through a painful Davina interview.

But could his apparent bashfulness be the only reason that 'Funtime Frankie' (as he calls himself ) - or 'The Scottish Misery from Hell' (as fellow housemate Dan once branded him) - seems to have packed his bags and moved to planet publicity-shy?

Earlier this week, the tabloids reported that our Jay had 'snubbed' the other housemates by refusing to attend a Big Brother barbeque.

Other reports speculated that he was being reunited with the birth mother he hasn't seen for 28 years - and had told friends that he needed some alone time to come to terms with the shock of renewed contact.

Meanwhile, one red-top claimed that Jason was back in Scotland having talks with a fake tan manufacturer who want him to be the face, pectorals and backside of their top selling brand.

And judging by the amount of time he spent bronzing himself in preparation for a trip to the Diary Room, he may well have needed this whole week to go through his pre-exfoliate and moisturising routine in order to land the billboard contract, which is rumoured to be worth £75,000.

An insider from Big Brother Winner's Week - the exclusive show due to be aired on E4 next week - confirms that Jason has most definitely been difficult to get hold of: "He just went AWOL."

But whatever the reason for the marmalade muscle man's disappearing act, we can now reveal that he's back on the Jungle Cat prowl.

The same insider told us that he's sharpening his claws in preparation for a comeback into the media spotlight.

"He's back in London and he went out with Victor last night."

nice to see him back but i dont like the comments his making, he needs to get over it, i thought he must have called it truce with him and nadia but i guess i was wrong!

did anyone read his article in the news of the world yesterday? (its on my site if you want to) it had sore loser written all over it. and the lies........ dont even get me going. he cant handle the fact that nadia is popular and he will never be. he walked into the bb house thinking his body would win it for him, just a pity he forgot to pack his personality. the sooner this man fades from the public eye the better.
