Either bump the old thread or explain what you’re talking about, posting “Burma” is stupid

In all seriousness though, the situation in Burma is horrific. It's been going on for decades and people really just aren't interested for whatever reason.

The depravity and cruelty that a human being can lower themselves to is beyond me.
We don't realise just how lucky we are living in this country.

No nation is going to deploy a ground force in a country that directly borders China, not even the heavy hitters, so the chances of that happening are slim even with the larger military powers and - frankly - there are only a handful of Muslim nations that even have an internationally deployable military. The most obvious candidate to help is Bangladesh but they have a smaller active military than Myanmar, and also, again, they're not going to engage in open warfare right on a land border with China. They do take hundreds of thousands of refugees, though.

Militarily the only country that could really sort it out is China... and they're just not ever going to. Given that it's a largely non-religious country... and of the section that is religious, there is a tonne of Buddhism and not many Muslims.

It's because it's happening to muslims, I think. That and it's on the other side of the world so people don't bring themselves to care.

It's a vie situation and one that the Burmese government needs to answer for, but they won't. There's not enough pressure for them to.

I don't think its because its muslims, foreign governments have never been consistent in their approach to Africa either ever. We all moan about our own problems, but, my god, take a look in that direction and we are in paradise. I don't think we can handle tribes basically

Good point, but sad at the same time.
