let me explain a living hell
in the brain its a big deal
i would name but forgotten the cell.
very little history
even if they are no longer alive
nan and grand dad as first names are a mystery
that's all that's on the hard drive.
they understood and were not bitter
called me a fish on the hook
birthday cards addressed to grandson twitter
surrendering as they never understood facebook.
time is precious
life i am trying to score
never showed them a poem that's devious
tittle was "got my own forget your war".
your love was romantic
i can guess as mum was exposed
where was i as now i am frantic
sorry this memory lane is closed.

Last of my grandparents died in 1993.

One of them died ten years before I was born

One died when I was a baby

And one died when I was 5
