But the balancing act required makes that unlikely. Viruses with high mortality rates (like ebola) are too dramatic and so don't spread fast enough and are self limiting. Viruses that do manage to spread globally are fairly low-key and have very low mortality rates and so don't change population growth. What we really need is a virus that doesn't kill...
