Nothing about race. The Ivy do not allow men in wearing shorts. Simple as that. Stupid irrelevant bitch.

Mess.

I get why she is annoyed though, it looks like the female isn't wearing any trousers/skirt at all and the male is wearing more clothes but shorts but the one with less clothes is allowed in. pretty unfair

Women are allowed to wear skirts. Pretty standard for resturants to refuse entry to men in shorts. This soft cow who ive only heard of for banging Drake is making false claims

fair enough if she was wearing a skirt (even though i don't agree with women being allowed to wear skirts and men are not allowed to wear shorts in restaurants) but her friend is literally half naked, no skirt and just wearing a jumper covering up her knickers.

She's wearing a jumper dress. It's ugly but it's still a dress. If the bloke had been wearing pants he would have been let in. They emailed her confirming it was why he was refused. Nothing about racism. Nothing worse than people who scream racist so quickly.

I don't think it's racism at all but i get why she is annoyed for her friend, they should honestly have some dress code and make it fair so they don't get in situations like this

Actually on the site it says dress code is smart i don't get how a jumper dress is smart which i am surprised she was allowed in

Apparently they amended their website after this happened, previously it said something along the lines of "there's no dress code but most of our customers like to dress smart casual". So it was a strange way of them suggesting how they wanted people to dress, without actually having it as a rule. Which is just asking for it to be left open to the staffs personal prejudices imo.

I don't like it when they film the staffs faces and post them all over social media though, especially when they're specifically asking not to be filmed

I once 'worked the door' on a nightclub where the Manager worded an entrance notice with something similar, and it hurt to have to turn away people who were wearing very clean, smart and very evidently EXPENSIVE jeans and casual wear because after letting some in the manager remonstrated with me explaining that he had meant; " suit trousers and formal shirts and shoes and NOT jeans etc".

He had this theory that men in suits are less liable to start fights and risk their clothes being damaged/soiled, and less likely to 'slit' seats(??) and less likely to 'stick used chewing gum on the seats and tables(???)

By the way, as some 'fashionista' in the 60's once said; Jeans are one item of clothing which INSTANTLY betrays the fact that their wearer does NOT wash them regularly, and it is true; dirty jeans are so noticeable.
