I mean, just like how Alex drove the BB3 narrative, Deana drove the BB13 one too. She had interesting relationships with everyone else, and they were typically the most interesting thing about the other person. Conor's entire storyline was that he hated her for no reason, Arron's entire persona of being an attention-seeking tryhard was mainly directed at Deana until she buried the **** out of him, Becky morphed from Deana's friend and comrade to her enemy (all culminating at Deana dragging her the morning of her eviction), Luke S was constantly on the receiving end of Deana's blows, Ashleigh and Deana slowly but surely grew from disliking each other to HATING each other, both Sara and Lydia had interesting frenemyships with her, Shievonne had her whole turf wars meltdown, the Outsiders brought her in as an ally but it was pretty obviously they only barely tolerated her (<3), etc. If you take Deana out of BB13 it's probably a pretty ****ty season because she was the kingpin that held it all together.

(this isn't me trying to justify Deana > Alex, but arguing that they both deserve recognition for their similar roles in their respective seasons)

I know, I know, she was a great HM but I do worry that people just adore her because she's in recent memory.

Plus, she was a pretty ****ty tactician in the end, her constant use of the 'soldiers' routine and continuation of gunning for Luke S when all of his allies had been taken out ultimately lost her the crown and even 2nd place to housemates that hadn't nearly fought their way through the series as much as her (well, Adam anyway, all the fights against him were from Caroline and Shievonne, who quite rightly left soon afterwards )

But then I guess you could say the same for Alex (with the fairly nice-guys pipping his militant gameplay)

But the idea that Deana is better than Aisleyne or Makosi (I know you don't like Makosi troy so I won't go there )

ya I get what you're saying, but at least for me Deana has improved over time (but I mean, almost anything that preceded BB15 would improve lbr.) And ya I guess you can say that Deana wasn't a good tactician but I don't hold it against her after she was pretty much bullied by the Insiders for 50+ days, so her harassment of Luke S was hilarious as far as I'm concerned, and it was hilarious as well.

As great as it is to have my personal favorite coincide with a serious contender to win, it's really annoying to deal with. It's happened with Ashleigh and Gina and Deana (and even Corin if we want to go back that far), where every single day their moves and actions are being analyzed as to how it will affect their winning chances. I find those types of discussions to be really exhausting and tedious (the Gina/Hazel **** was the worst) and at the end of the day, even if it jeopardizes their winning chances I'd much rather have my favorites be ridiculous and entertain me more than play it safe so I can pridefully say I rooted for them to win and they did. And specifically for BB13, once the voting percentages were revealed Luke A had more votes to save in Caroline's eviction week than everyone else so I think the main effect of Deana's last week was demoting her from second to third place.

As for Deana compared to Aisleyne/Makosi, I won't comment because of a future project I have in store BUT I actually do like Makosi. Just not as much as everyone else does :3
