Big Brother is dead. The 3 million viewers that are left are likely to all be the die hard crowds who will watch regardless , so theirs no way the ratings are going to dramaticaly rise for some special event or eviction.

Also , using the repeats excuse is pathetic because the show is repeated numerous times EVERY year.

And as to why it would be cancelled while their are still 3 million + viewers? Think about it : look at the amount of scheduel time the show eats up in total. They could replace hours upon hours of Big Brother shows a day with one show per night that has a fairly good chance of getting ratings that are just as high.

Its a great series , better than last years , but the show is dead. At least in its current incarnation.

A format heavy show like BB cant be expected to run forever and this series is living proof.

Last nights ratings were awful.
If ratings don't pick up by the end of next the producers need to think something up and quick.
Euro 2008 seems to be really affecting it, when the match is over the audience for BB increases by alot and also on C4+1
I think when Euro2008 is over the 9pm shows will do well.

It would be best if they just kept the show on at 10pm until the football is over.

Why would C4 want to replace it?
It gets C4 some of its highest ratings
Ł180 million pounds for I think 3 years, 6 series including spin off shows is really cheap. For the amount of airtime it gets and the ratings it gets, its a really cheap show.

Im starting to think they should get rid of the Saturday show, so far both of the shows that have been on Saturday has brought the series average by about 400,000-500,000 viewers. The BB9 overnight average is 3.4 million now.3 days ago it was 3.8 million.

Last night
During Euro 08: 1.48m
After Euro 08: 2.11m

Yeah not many people was watching TV last night, but its obvious Euro 2008 is having an affect, even on the first eviction show on Friday.
i don't even know why C4 decided to put Saturday highlights on, they know it doesn't do well

Yes you can if half the country is out. 6 points to be made:

1. Its a Saturday

2. Up aggainist the football, when teh football ended, 1 million more people tuned in.

3. It was confirmation day in most parts of teh country, remember most people do their confirmations are 15-16(main demograhic audience)

4. Even the football did badly if you compare to some other games which got 5 million+.

5. They keep changing the slot from 9 to 10, it confused people and it confuses me.

6. It does not include the +1 figures which normally get about 300,000-400,000 more added.

All ratings weren't good last night, so thats one reason why BB didn't perform well
If most people aren't watching TV, BB is never going to get good ratings.

I don't blame BB's rating so low, first it was Jade and Shilpa contorversy, then BB8 was SO boring, as boring as BB4, so people just think nothing intresting is happening anymore, and well, it's kinda true, Big Brother should be just evil. PURE evil.

Bad ratings, but it was a Saturday and up against the football.

At least it wasnt the lowest rated show ever. The lowest watched HL show was the final highlights show of BB6 which got 1.459m.

Shame about the low ratings as it is a great series so far.
