indeed, in the newer games there's a similar pokemon called Feebas who evolved into a real powerful pokemon called Milotic. To get it was a nightmare but to evolve it was just evil. It was quite powerful though.

Lol Feebas took the p*ss lol you had to fish in a lake that was 365 tiles big, Feebas only appeared in six tiles and each time you went to the lake it the tiles would change. Then, once you found Feebas you had to raise it's beauty to maximum which took ages since you had to find and grow berries. It was horrific, but Milotic was powerful.
