The Circle
I really enjoyed this, it's alright for a cheap budget. It's like watching Big Brother US/Survivor but instead of voting out people they are voting to kill people. It has everything you would see on big brother - Going after the older people first - Problematic people - taking control of the game early on but makes you a target quicker - showmance that's fake - Silent people making it far because they are under the rader - people who seem really obvious they would win - trying to get the majority vote. I watched this before and i forgot what happens and was shocked the girl and pregnant girl got killed because they were tricked but Eric was smart and played a good game throughout so i would link him to Dan Gheesling/Dr Will Kirby. So i will give this film a 9/10 I will watch Bone Tomahawk tomorrow even though it doesn't look slightly interesting.

Bone Tomahawk
![]() This is a film that I expected people would either love or hate, it does indeed have a rather slow build up and a big reputation for being gory mostly because of one scene. Let's start with the negatives, the middle is a bit of a chore, a whole lot of nothing happens as they make their way to save Nick and Samantha and for the ammount of time the film uses (about an hour and 20?) I do think they failed in making all the characters people you care about sadly and I wish certain scenes had played out differently, I feel the scene when the horses were stolen could have been a tense one had they maybe had a stand off rather than waking up to a single guy left to be shot and his companions already leaving, that made little sense to me. Another slight gripe is the cannibals hide away didn't look real at all, if these guys were as barbaric as we saw the place would be a mess but it looked quite clean, I just expected more. I also wish we had seen Purvis killed and confessing to his crimes instead of just off Nick. I think those scenes could hace broken up the lagging middle a bit. The positives though are pretty extensive, I thought the acting was fantastic and Kurt Russel, Patrick Wilson and Richard Jenkins were all top notch and the black humour littered around the movie is very welcome, especially from Nick and Chicory, I wish Nick had been used more actually as I really liked his personality even if it was displayed breifly as Sam operated on Purvis. I definitely agree with Jamie that if you keep with it you care about the characters (unless you are distracted or didn't even watch the film of course) I definitely had a soft spot for Chicory, he really was tough as old boots though and I felt bad when the horse was injured, too. I thought Nick's death was shocking, very well acted and I enjoyed that there was no cut away during the body split, pure gore practical fx ![]() All in all Bone Tomahawk is a really good movie imo, the pacing could have been a little nipped in here and there and I do understand people who find the middle tedious but I enjoyed the acting so much I forgot how long I had been watching. 7/10

Bone Tomahawk: 7/10
I enjoyed this but I think your enjoyment of it probably depends on your opinion on the Western genre in general. I love period pieces so I just really liked the whole vibe of the film and found that allowed me to enjoy it even when it was slow-burning. I don't think the savages were particularly interesting villains and I found the conclusion to the movie pretty subpar. Actually, I think I preferred the slower portion in the middle of the movie when the four were on their journey, the strengths of this movie are in the dialogue and building a believable Old West world rather than the conflict with the antagonists. It's a better Western drama than it is a horror. It's entirely possible that my view of the movie would be lower if it was set in the modern day since the primary driving force of the plot wasn't that compelling, but the time period it is set really added to me getting into the story and elevated the film beyond what it could have been. ![]() Oh also I liked how the last thing you're left with is the conclusion to Kurt Russell's story (hearing the gun shots) rather than the man and his wife (I can't remember any of their names now). I thought it was a nice touch (and apparently different to the original ending which was meant to be a scene between those two reading the poem or something).

Sunday 8th October - Sorority Row (2009)
![]() Cassidy (Briana Evigan), Jessica (Leah Pipes), Ellie (Rumer Willis), Claire (Jamie Chung) and Megan (Audrina Patridge) are sorority sisters and true-blue friends to the end -- until a prank gone wrong results in Megan's demise. Rather than risk their futures by reporting the crime, the friends agree to cover it up. Cassidy and company come to regret the decision a year later when someone begins sending them videos of the night Megan died, and they fall victim to a deadly stalker.

Sorority Row
It was good. Pretty much exactly what I assumed it would be from its title alone. Good amount of comedy, good amount of horror, good amount of mystery, just good (but not great) across the board really. I don't think the killer was significant enough of a character for me to care completely, was kinda hoping for a more shocking twist there. But thats the only negative I can think of really. Don't have much to add, it was just good, and exactly what I was expecting. 7/10
