all this comes from young people that have too much time on their hands. It reminds me of the chaos that was created when that woman jumped/fell into the river. The level of conspiracy was ridiculous. If she still doesn't appear after easter as planned, then questions can be legitimately asked. Anything before then is just people making trouble for their own morbid amusement

…I agree to an extent but I also think it’s inevitable that these speculations are going to happen in a social media world we live in…because Charles has been photographed whereas Kate hasn’t….I’m only stating what I’m reading, and the reasoning of it, not my own thoughts…but I can understand how this is ‘gaining legs’ also…

Charles is the top Royal though he has a duty to show his face, I dont think Kate has any obligation to do so especially as the Palace said she would not be back on public facing duties until 31st March, as BOTs says if she doesn't appear after that something is seriously amiss, Kate has the extra pressure of having her looks scrutinised to the nth degree, something Charles doesn't really have to worry about

..yeah that’s true also, that he’s the King…the big boss guy, as it were…but the younger royals…(…and hugely, the females like Diana, Meghan and Kate for instance…)…are the ones that gain the public interest because they’re hugely popular…’the people’s princesses’ if you like, so Kate is gaining that speculation so much more than Charles because of the nature of public popularity and populism, which is a huge part of today….i guess what I’m trying to say in reading what people are saying, is that I understand their reasoning and how I think the royal firm also has to realise that this was an inevitable thing….

It's a world made up of conspiracy theories. In the past they didn't gain much traction without the internet, now they spread like wildfire. It's the modern day equivalent of gossip, which has always annoyed me

…it’s also a world of mis information, I think…it’s a very layered world of many things…which is why I don’t think there is the simplicity of people/young or old, having too much time on their hands…it’s all become so messy and it’s about either spending time in filtering through that mess for ‘truth’ or just turning away completely and being equally as unknowing, you know…neither one an ideal in keeping up with any current affairs and finding that accuracy that isn’t trying to divide ….

I really can't understand why people are SO desperate for something to be wrong. The palace said she won't be around till after Easter and they've said she will be at Trooping the Colour... I think the conspiracy theorists need a little excitement in their lives.

Jokes aside - the research paper this article is based on (Peng et al. 2015) is very interesting. Not sure where it can be accessed for free but if you happen to have academic access to it somewhere well worth a read especially for anyone who frequents the 'net and social media...

Could anything be clearer? There is nothing whatsoever to gossip about. There seems to be excuses made that it is human nature to speculate, and that is true of certain humans I suppose; but for example there is a massive difference between a Royal asking for and needing privacy and rest after a serious operation and Royals who continually serve themselves up to social media and the press in their quest for attention and relevancy.
And it is no secret that admirers of those particular ‘Royals’ have a big part to play in those nasty internet rumours.
