Just to add - those 2 episodes of bbuk are the 2 joint most watched programmes on Channel 5 from the WHOLE of last week, only behind CBB and the Yorkshire Vet which had 10k more

The least watched bb ever, one that C5 don’t care about, and it’s still their most watched show.
Now imagine they actually made effort with it, gave it a good schedule, promoted it. It would be far and away above all of their other shows ![]() |

I honestly believe if it was aired after a year or so break on ITV2 it would get similar ratings to LI. A 9pm time slot, better and wider reaching promotion, the interest in it being revived etc.

It used to achieve series averages of 5.3m in its height, and while I don't think anyone expects it to ever achieve that much or exceed it, the show is not beyond redemption. It can be revived and achieve good ratings like LI if given the opportunity

Although when LI dies down it would probably be a good time/idea for a channel to relaunch BB. |

Goes to show it’s definitely the scheduling that’s the cause of the low overnights. Yes the overnights are awful but if it’s adding over 400k on the officials before the catch up figures have even been added then it’s nowhere near as bad. At least this series SHOULD be able to bow out with its head held reasonably high although there is still a long way to go.

Can someone help me understand all the "phases" of the rating?
Overnight, +1, catchup, officials, any other forms - what exactly they are and if they're included or not and when? I'm not familiar with the system in the UK and I keep seeing these numbers changing and adding up all the time ![]()

Overnights and +1: These are the viewers that watched it live or an hour later in +1, which is the channel that airs programmes an hour later than the show was originally broadcast. The officials add people who recorded it on Sky+ or whatever as well as those that streamed it live on the Channel 5 website. Catchup, which is soon to be added to the officials, are the ones who watch it on any catch up service like my5 including from laptops, tablets and downloads from TV catchup services.

Not quite..
Overnight ratings - the number of people who watch it live, on the +1 hour channel, or on the same day of broadcast before 2am (via recording / if they paused etc) Official consolidations - the number of people who watched overnight + all those who watched it recorded within 7 days after broadcast None of these yet include viewers who stream it on the website or catch up via My5’s on demand service, but these numbers should be added soon, hopefully next week. |

So they don't include the on-demand services?! This is silly, we're already in 2018. It's actually more important than the recorded show, because in All4/my5 there are actual ads, whereas people can just fast forward them when recording - financially, the latter his less crucial ![]()

Is the online viewing (within 28 days) being added a new thing for all shows? Or just C5/Big Brother. I wonder how past series would've done with it.
Though, I can't see it adding more than like 100k for each show. I know it sounds pessimistic but yeah :/

I don't know if its just BB but I know ITV said with online/demand services Love Island was watched by an average of 5 million.
