Nah

Well, congrats to him I guess, I wasn't supporting any of them.
He better be prepared because he's going to be in charge of a terrible situation. Now that he is elected, let's hope he won't be killed a la Kennedy. |

Well done Obama, no surprises that he won but he is going to have to work so hard and do a great job to get the country back on track, I just hope he is capable of it
I'm very disappointed that it wasn't close in the end because McCain really deserved more than he got Looking to the future, I like the sound of Sarah Palin to become the 45th President of the United States |

And for those that think Obama is going to turn America into a socialist country LMAO! He wants to tax people more who earn over $200,000 P/A oh BoooHooo poor them. Mcain tried to use the same lame argument it didnt wash!! Its the ordinary hard working Americans that will benefit and those less fortunate, like the girl whos going to college and working nightshifts but still cant afford to pay for her sick relatives healthcare as Obama said in his speech! Welcome to the real world!

I am elated that Obama won, I got up at 5 to see if the results were in and had to stop myself whooping loudly with delight.
It shows that as a country America are united in wanting real change. |

LANDSLIDE VICTORY! Chyeah.
Well done Obama! It's so inspiring to see someone like him become President, and his speech was fantastic. The fact that America's been inspired in this way to hope can only be a good thing. The country has progressed forwards so rapidly, considering the situation in America just 50 years ago. |

Some important points to make.
Obama won in Iowa - a 91% white population. Wow! What a change. Also, he won in a state where only a few decades a go, his parents were forced to leave as they were not allowed to marry as they're interracial. Historic. Quote:

I don't believe McCain is a bad man (although I firmly believe that Palin is not a good or decent person). In 2000, McCain would have been the better choice if we had to have a Republican president. He was far more considered and thoughtful, and centralist then (although Al Gore was my first choice in 2000, and I will always believe that the election was unjustly stolen from him - but if he had been running against McCain instead of Bush, it would not have been as close as it was, and McCain would probably have won easily). But McCain was robbed of his chance in 2000 and by the time we got to 2008, he just wasn't the same person anymore. To clarify - I would have wanted Gore to win anyway, but McCain would have been a better GOP choice. I am over the moon about Obama winning. I think this is a hugely important election, and it will start to heal the hurt that America has been feeling, and improve their standing in the rest of the world. |

As for whether Obama is capable - well, time will tell. However, I certainly have more faith in him than McCain. See my earlier post though for my thoughts on McCain; he isn't a bad man - he just isn't the right man to lead the country. |

There's something seriously wrong somewhere when you consider that the highest paid person in the GOP 'team' was Sarah Palin's hairdresser. Wrong priorities or what?!
