It's a complete joke that Eoghan's still in. If it really is true that ABBA are one of his favourite bands, it's preposterous that he's targeting the tween market for his votes. I'm more inclined to believe that Simon chose both his songs, to be honest.

I agree, it's Simon's biggest tactic to get the tween market to vote, hence picking songs like HSM, Mamma Mia and Busted.

Absolutely. I don't blame him - he knows that Diana is the runaway favourite, he knows that Alexandra is the most talented in terms of vocal ability, and he's never not had an act in the final before so he'll be fighting for the votes that are up for grabs with Eoghan.

No to be honest, I thought JLS and Diana (and Alexandra) all gave at least one good vocal performance tonight. Diana and JLS' first performances weren't good for singing, but Diana's performance was great because it was something different and JLS' made me crack up with laughter... haha.

Ithink the only reason Diana did Girlfriend was to show she could be versatile which I think she did.

JLS were horrific on Umbrella and average on the second song. What Diana lost on vocals due to the dancing on the first number she made up for with an amazing second round.

Spot on!

Overall, Alexandra was the only one who gave two vocally sound performances, but JLS and Diana both nailed their second songs (bar that really off note towards the end of White Flag for Diana) so I think Eoghan should be out, because he gave two cheesy performances that did not suit his age either way - Year 3000 was released when he would have been about 11 years old? The song therefore targets *gasp* 11 year olds. And the ABBA song - wtf? That song would have been fine for Disco week, but come on, are we supposed to believe he chose that as his favourite song?

If it IS his favourite song, then I find it hypocritical for him to be targeting an age group that he wants nothing to do with.

There is a new version of it that the kids listen to these days. I dont know where its from but I want to say Mama mia, but anyways, young kids sing it a lot these days. Simon is very clever!

It was a very good Semi Final with the exception of JLS. Alexandra had a great first performance, her second one I thought wasn't AS great as Listen but it was still very good. Diana was good on both perfomances While Eoghan had a terrible first song (Busted is 'roking out'????) but a good second song. The best two were Diana and Alexandra (She suffered slightly as she didn't match last weeks perfroamances but she was still great).
