Cyber Warrior
|
Quote:
With the hat of science on, it has no validity either, things just happen for no reason sometimes, although in this case there was a "reason" i.e the motive of the perpetrator. Going back to Old Testament times, there was a belief that if something bad happened to you then you must have done something wrong, the book of Job is a refutation of that belief. Moving forward into Jesus' time, this belief persisted, if you did something wrong, you would be visited by calamity. Jesus also refuted this belief which you can read in the first five verses of Luke 13 To be even more precise Karma is intrinsic in Hinduism and so called New Age religions where it is intertwined with the doctrine of reincarnation and the wheel of Samsara. It seems in modern usage Karma has developed into something more akin to the belief in a cosmic "Just Deserts", something that Woody Allen rubbished in his hit film Crimes and Misdemeanour's Perhaps it behoves us to actually look to the origins of some popular terms that are utilised in modern parlance to avoid possible misunderstandings.

Huh, Odd I think they got it wrong. Niether look like the bag that's been posted on 4Chan. But stuff can burn like wildfire through the internet so fast I don't anything anymore.
Pressure Bombs should be a bit heavy right? then why isn't the second guy carrying his on both shoulders?

Suspect leaving the scene.
Spoiler: Could be a misleading photo, but he does look the least fussed.

You know, looking at photos like that, it makes you really detest the paparazzi. This man has just lost his legs, his life has been changed forever, a catastrophe has just affected hundreds of innocent people and there's some bloody person with a camera taking pictures of what is likely to be the worst day of your life. I'm a bit disgusted. On the other hand, this photo could go on to become very famous, possibly benefiting the guy who's lost his legs... but he didn't choose to have his photo taken...

It's nothing against this specific photo per se, it's more the paparazzi in general. It's kinda grotesque, but having said that, I'm happily looking at these kinds of images too so I guess that's why they're published. People want to see these things, even if they don't think they want to. That's the media's motto. |

its a strange one.. my instincts in this situation would be to help and the last thing id want to do is start taking photos.. but like you said we're sitting here looking at the photos. I wonder how they feel at the time walking around with people in need of help whilst they are taking pictures. I appreciate the photos in some ways because its given me an idea of what happened and its made me think a lot about things.. you cant really win if your one of the people that took photos at the time.

I hate when I think I've used a word too much, like if I use the word 'but' more than once in a sentence, makes me feel dumb. Yeah, like at the end of the day, photographers are employed to do this stuff and they've got to earn their living by doing it, but it just seems a bit sick when you take a step back and think about the context. Carnage going on all around them and they're... taking photos of it.
